Last night I was stripping Carter down for bathtime and the little jokester was putting up the usual fight. He was very busy playing with daddy's wedding band so my interference really bothered him :). Well as soon as he was butt naked he thought it would be perfectly acceptable to try and put the ring on his little weiner. I am of course, telling him "NO, that doesn't go there!" but honestly I couldn't stop laughing so my Stern Mommy face wasn't working. Such a boy. Are they born with these goofy tendencies towards their weiners and bodily functions?

When my dad and Kevin were working on the floors Carter felt left out so they let him get the measuring tape and measure things and help with little tasks like marking with pencil were a hole should go or throwing stuff away, etc.... busy work to make him feel like one of the guys. Well, it turns out one of the tasks was "rolling" the floor after it was laid so Carter carried around a rolling pin and rolled the floor whenever they told him he was needed. You can tell when your child feels proud to be a part of something and it made me smile to see him so excited.

So we went to the beach when we were sick. Not so smart but we hate being cooped up so off we went. Let me tell ya, snot and sand do not mix. Blech! (Plus it was so damn windy that it just snatched my whispered voice away) Anyway, Carter really never has seen seagulls up close and personal. I forget that I was raised 1 or 2 miles away from the water so we had seagulls all over the place....parking lots, parks, etc... they are just ho-hum for me but to a little guy they are flying magical beasts. Once he realized that we could throw them food and they would come really close....well, let's just say the giant magical splashing pool (aka the ocean) didn't have a chance. He chased those birds down the beach, waving his arms wildly over his head and laughing hysterically as they flew away. I have no idea why we brought beach chairs or a sun shelter...nothing was used.
