Party over here

Just a note on my lame Friday night.

I finallly get child to sleep and I want some of my yogi tea for momma's. Hmmmm. What to drink it with? I would kill for a scone right now. No recipe for scones in my Homemaker Database and not one damn English person skulking in the bushes for me to thrash it out of. Ah. Corn muffins. Close enough. So 10 pm and I'm baking corn muffins. Pregnant? How can you tell? And to top it all off I turn on QVC and am now watching Christmas in July show. Never too early for christmas but must turn sound off so I don't have to listen to inane chatter from saleswoman.
Mmmmm.
Back to the muffins.
G'night.

Diego Vs. Dora

Hmmm? In which camp are you? This is bigger than the Clinton Vs. Obama issue, by far.
In my opinion, Dora is cute and engages kids in her show; Diego irritates the crap out of me and he just yells everything. If Diego was my child I would tell him to relax and not scream orders at everyone....possibly put him on Ridilin. Carter agrees with me, of course. He prefers Dora and her sidekick boots. But regardless of how annoying these shows can be on a daily basis, I like seeing him get all into them. When they ask "Where is blah-blah-blah?", Carter says "Der it is!" and claps his hands like he has solved a great mystery for his tv friends. Funny. I've discovered a way to avoid Dragontales....it is just a little channel juggling at the right time, so I will take Diego over the moronic dragons. I know, this is fascinating people. Tune in tomorrow for my in depth analysis of baby shampoos.

A quick note: last nights before-bed-snack was a bag of Zaps No-Salt potato chips (I'm addicted to these), a bowlful of pickles (to make up for the no-salt chips) and a big glass of lemonade. Mmmmm. Healthy.

I think I've flunked motherdom

So we are getting ready to head out to Target today and Carter does his usual routine for going out.... deciding whether he wants a hat/jacket/mittens/some of his "guys" (little people or weebles) etc...... He is very particular. Today he chose red mittens. I don't know why. He just really really likes them. Two days ago he napped in them. I don't fight him on these things. If people want to give us odd looks when we are out, I don't care. I nearly forgot about the mittens until a Target employee approached me and said, "I just gotta know...what's with the mittens?"
I simply said "he refused to leave the house without them" and that was that. I very well could have made up something horrifying like he has leprosy or a very contagious rash or something, just to mess with her. Ah well. Next time.

On the way home I get a mad craving for Wendy's so I drive out of my way for a "treat". I ordered one large fries and a chocolate Frosty. mmmmm. And yes, I am pregnant.

So we get home and Carter practically tackles me to get to the "treats". I put him in his highchair and give him a dollop of frosty in a bowl and 5 fries. Then I sat across from him and we both sat there dipping our fries in our frostys and gobbling them up. It was a bonding moment.

Disclaimer: Now, I generally don't let him have stuff like this all the time. We are pretty healthy eaters around here. :)
